One Punch Man Season 2 was announced in August last year, and fans have been eagerly waiting for it ever since. All the fans have waited too long for it, and we really hope that One Punch Man Season 2 proves worthy enough. We expect it to be nothing like before but everyone acknowledges the fact that the first season of One Punch Man was splendid, and was adapted really well.
One Punch Man Season 2: Huge Credit To Chikashi Kubota
It was taken care off by a staff that was selected really carefully. One of the important people who shone out was Chikashi Kubota. For those who are unaware of who Kubota is, he’s the Character Designer and Chief Animation Supervisor for the first season of One Punch Man. It was due to Kubota’s supervision that One Punch Man’s animation came out perfectly.
Chikashi Kubota will return as the Chief Animation Supervisor for the second season of One Punch Man. It’s unknown who will take the role of CAD but it certainly doesn’t look fine. When compared to season one, the designs look a bit off. For obvious reasons, you shouldn’t be expecting the second season’s animation to be as good as season one of One Punch Man.
One Punch Man Season 2: No Kubota in Season 2?
The one redeeming factor about the staff attached was that Kubota was going to be doing the character designs. Now typically in anime when you do character designs, you're also the Chief Animation Director (Supervises the overall animation to make sure it's on model).

As it looks like, Chikashi Kubota hasn’t been too involved with season two of One Punch Man.
If you want to know how uninvolved Kubota is, when being asked about the designs changes, he said "Hmm, in the pv? I wonder if the change of studio is noticed on screen…"

It’s totally noticeable when seen onscreen in One Punch Man Season 2 trailer. Alongside a change in CAD, there is also an offsetting composite for the second season, which looks extremely bizarre. The first few episodes may have seen Kubota as the Animation Director but we aren’t even sure of that. The announcement for Kubota’s replacement will be made soon but from One Punch Man’s trailer, it’s evident that the second session won’t be as incredible as season one. Here’s the trailer:

One Punch Man Season 2: Will there be a third season?
There is enough material for the third season of One Punch manga. But we don’t know if there will be a third season at all. If season two manages to do well, we might get a third one in 2020.
