James Winburn died at the age of 85. He played Michael Myers in the first Halloween movie, which came out in 1978.
In the famous horror movie, he played the part of Myers, who fell off a balcony after being shot six times by Dr. Loomis.
James played the crazy Michael Myers again in Halloween II, which came out in 1981. James also did stunts in a number of critically acclaimed movies, such as Escape from New York, Tron, Colors, The Night Stalker, Glory, and The Couch Trip.
The news of James’s death didn’t get out to the public until Monday, even though most people think he died over the weekend from an unknown health problem.
Monopoly Events gave James a shout-out on Twitter after he was a guest at their For the Love of Horror fan convention a month ago.
The company said on Monday:
We are extremely sad to learn of the passing of James Winburn, who joined us for @ftlohorror last month.

Monster-Mania Con, which also puts on horror conventions, paid a similar tribute to the actor after hearing that he would not be able to attend their 2022 event because of his illness.
The firm said on Facebook:

James was an absolute pleasure to work with and we had hoped to see him again for our show in Oaks, PA but sadly a health issue prevented that.
James was always appreciative of the Halloween fans and truly enjoyed meeting everyone. Our sincere condolences go out to his family, friends and fans.
In several scenes of John Carpenter’s Halloween, the actor showed off his acting and stunt skills, including the scene where he fell out of a window after being shot and then disappeared. This scene started one of the most successful and longest-running horror film franchises ever.
