After the comedian Kevin Hart stepped away from hosting Oscars, there won’t be a host for Oscars 2019. This happened after the fallout with the comedian.
This is not the first time Oscars won’t have a Host
For the first time in almost three decades, A-list celebrities will be selected by the producers for introducing and presenting segments. This time the entire night won’t be hosted by a single person as reported by the sources.
The 91st Academy Awards are almost here and the producers are scrambling in order to coordinate the line up of the celebrities for 24 February.
On Wednesday, Kevin Hart confirmed that he won’t host the Oscars 2019 awards even after a public push from Ellen DeGeneres to do the same. No new offers have been made by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences yet.
In 1989, Oscars was hosted without a host. As per the sources, this show this year is likely to play up as a high profile year for music, looking at the nominees including Dolly Parton, Kendrick Lamar, and Lady Gaga.
Kevin Hart confirmed the news in an unapologetic interview that he would not host Oscars 2019 and he has nothing more to say about his homophobic tweet.
On Good Morning America, he said that he is not willing to invest any more energy on the controversy due to which he had to step down as the host of 91st Academy Awards.
He added,
I am done with it. It gets no more energy. For the last time, I am done addressing this. There is no more conversation about it. I’m done with it, I am over it.
Kevin Hart has already explained that he has changed a lot since that incident and he won’t explain it anymore. Even after the backlash, Hart did not agree to apologize and chose to quit Oscars 2019.
