Oshi No Ko Season 2 has to be one of the most anticipated anime sequels of this year. The series shook the Otaku world with its first few episodes. By the first episode itself, it had built a fanbase and is one of the most trending anime this season beating the likes of Dr Stone, Hell’s Paradise, and Vinland Saga.
Oshi No Ko Episode 1 in itself was a roller coaster. The anime is set in the world of Japanese idol industry. The Japanese idol is a grim industry with many real harrowing stories out there. It was, in a way, the perfect supernatural anime. Dark, deceit, murder, obsession, innocence, revenge and to add to that – reincarnation. The tone of the anime went from being light-hearted to gut-wrenchingly painful in a smooth transition. There’s a certain realism to the anime except for the reincarnation concept.
Oshi No Ko is the top-rated anime on the ‘my anime list’ website pipping Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood into second place. We are midway through the first season and fans have already started to wonder when Oshi No Ko Season 2 will come out.
Oshi No Ko Season 2 – Release Date
Oshi No Ko Season 2 doesn’t have an official date yet. Season One premiered on April 12, 2023. There will certainly be an Oshi No Ko Season 2 as the story doesn’t come to an end in Season 1. The first one will roughly adapt the first 6 volumes of the manga. To date, there are 11 volumes of Oshi No Ko. The first volume was released on July 17, 2020. As of March 17, 2023, eleven volumes have been released.
Season 1 will most likely adapt until Chapter 38 of the manga as the arc ends there. The first season looks to lay the ground for future seasons. This will allow the animation studio to be able to tell the story with more detail and unravel the complexities of the plot with ease.
If we were to speculate, Oshi No Ko Season 2 won’t be out until the end of 2024. There’s not enough manga material to adapt to be able to release it any sooner.

Oshi No Ko Season 1 will have 11 episodes. The first episode had a runtime of about 90 minutes. The rest of the episodes will have a standard runtime of 24 minutes.
As mentioned earlier, season 1 will cover 6 volumes of the manga. Oshi No Ko Season 2 will most likely cover a similar number of chapters and will likely be a 13-episode season – unless there’s a longer special episode like the premiere episode of Season 1.

The wildly popular is unfortunately not streaming on Crunchyroll. The anime is streaming on HIDIVE in the US. Internationally, Oshi no Ko can be streamed on Netflix and HIDIVE in select countries.
