Outlander Season 5: Cast talks about what lies ahead
The show has followed the Fraser family’s move in their journey from Scotland to postcolonial America and all the challenges that they faced. Jamie has been the figurehead throughout all of it to steer his family in the right direction. He faced several challenges as he adapted this role and the new country.
The actor revealed at Starz’s Emmy Showcase event in Los Angeles,
As we saw at the end of season four, he made a deal with the Redcoats and it’s the wrong side. But, I think [otherwise], the characters feel settled.
Fraser’s Ridge has succeeded in establishing their roots. Jamie has grown into the honorary clan chief. It’s a huge responsibility which includes not only his family but everyone who lives in that particular area. That is where he gets into trouble. Will Jamie manage to get his family out of it in Outlander Season 5?
Maril Davis, the event executive producer, teased that if the previous season was mainly about home, then the upcoming installment is about how one protects home and family. The fans may get to see Jamie go to extreme ends for protecting his family and play his role as the figurehead.
The panel also revealed that it wasn’t easy to adapt Outlander’s fifth season from Diana Gabaldon’s “The Fiery Cross.” Roger Wakefield MacKenzie (Richard Rankin) said that they are in the early stages when it comes to adaptation. They are never easy, especially in this case.
