After Errol Spence Jr. took down Mikey Garcia last week, the American boxer is set to face Manny Pacquiao this summer. The two shook hands in the ring after Spence’s match and engaged in a short conversation.
Proposed date for match set in July
The 29-year old undefeated champion has previously called out the Phillipenes senator, saying he is willing to fight out Pacquiao anywhere, even in Phillipenes.
But Pacquiao did not seem enthralled by Spence’s moves in the ring. The senator said that Spence reminds him of Lehlo whom he defeated in 2011 in his United Stated debut match.
Sources have revealed that Pacquiao will be looking at a fight date in July, and he will be meeting with Al Haymon to flesh out the details. The summer match will not impact his work in the Senate, speculations suggest.
Spence’s response to Pacquiao
Errol has responded to the proposition by saying he is available to fight in July. If everything goes well, we might just see an epic match this summer.
The two boxers have a similar fighting style. Both Manny and Errol rely on footwork, stamina, and hand speed to get an edge over their opponents. However, Errol may have an upper hand – he has the advantage of precision moves, along with speed and power.
Both the boxers are southpaw fighters and will be looking to establish dominance over each other. For Spence, this match may just bring in his fattest paycheck yet.
Hopefully, everything works out as planned, and fans get to watch the epic match this July.
