In a trailer for a new documentary about her life that will be on Netflix on January 31, 55-year-old Pamela Anderson didn’t look like herself when she wore little makeup.
A miniseries recently aired on TV about the famous sex tape of the former Baywatch bombshell, which was said to have upset her.
Now, the blonde bombshell is telling her own story in a Netflix documentary called Pamela, A Love Story. Fans will be amazed at how different she looks from when she was at the height of her fame in the 1990s.
The Netflix documentary will come out on the same day that Harper Collins and Dey Street Books publish her tell-all book Love, Pamela.
I didn’t sleep last night at all,
Pamela Anderson says at the beginning of the trailer for the documentary against clips of the sizzling sensation warming herself by a bonfire.
She has to deal immediately with the public’s renewed interest in the sex tape she made with her first husband, Tommy Lee of Motley Crue.
The tape story was recently told on TV in a miniseries called Pam and Tommy, which starred Sebastian Stan and Lily James.
In the trailer, Pamela Anderson hints at how she feels about her sex tape coming back into the public eye, but she doesn’t say the name of the miniseries.
I blocked that stolen tape out of my life in order to survive, and now that it’s all coming up again, I feel sick,
she said.
Pamela Anderson admitted that she didn’t think she got “a lot of respect” as a sex symbol.
A short clip of the video showed Ruby Wax asking her:
Did you want to be a serious actress?
and Pamela replied:
I am a serious actress!’ eliciting a laugh.
In another glimpse of her public image, she briefly played the beautiful bimbo Heather Biblow in a guest role on Fran Drescher’s The Nanny.
I had to make a career out of the pieces left, but I’m not the damsel in distress,
Pamela said in a voiceover.
I put myself in crazy situations and survived them.
Footage of Pamela’s different jobs was shown, including what looked like one of her Celebrity Boxing practices.
She also did a Comedy Central Roast and joined the cast of Chicago on Broadway, which are both briefly shown in the trailer.
In recent years, Pamela has become known for her friendship with Julian Assange. She is also seen on late-night TV being interviewed by Jay Leno.
The beautiful woman, who has been married six times and has had five ex-husbands, also talked about her complicated love life.
Some men think: “Oh, she’s a Playboy thing, or the sexual person,” and they hate you for being something else,
she said this as a bunch of her girly magazine covers were shown.
In another telling bit of video, Pamela can be seen telling Piers Morgan about her love life on TV:
One man can’t do it all.
Against what looks like footage from a Chicago dress rehearsal, Pamela says:
You have to be brave, and you gotta use what you got.
Pamela wonders out loud as the trailer for her upcoming documentary comes to an end:
Why can’t we be the heroes of our own life story?
She makes a joke in a confessional near the end of the trailer:
Maybe I just do all the interviews naked. There’s no mystery here!
After how she was portrayed in Pam and Tommy, Pamela may be trying to take back control of her image with her upcoming documentary.
A source said that Pam and Tommy “has been very painful for Pamela Anderson and for everyone who loves her.” It’s crazy that this series is being made without her permission.
The source said that Pamela still feels violated by the theft of the sex tape and that the show reminds her of a very painful time.
Courtney Love, who is friends with Pamela, called the show “vile” and “outrageous” in a post on social media:
My heart goes out to Pammy further causing her complex trauma.
She said some harsh things about the show’s star, and she added:
And shame on Lily James whoever the f*** she is.
Pamela said her turn in Chicago made her feel like she was one step closer to getting her power back.
The swimsuit icon added:
It’s very empowering. And it does feel I’m being supported. I’m being rooted for, that’s a new feeling for me. I don’t want to let anybody down, but I also really don’t want to let myself down.
