Paris Hilton characterized her new experience to PEOPLE at the time as a “dream.”
“It’s always been my dream to be a mother and I’m so happy that Carter and I found each other,” she said. “We are so excited to start our family together and our hearts are exploding with love for our baby boy.”
Prior to the news, she informed the outlet that she and Reum began an IVF treatment plan during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We started doing it a few months in because the world was shut down,” she explained. “When we realized we wanted to start a family; I thought, ‘This is perfect timing.'” Normally, I’m on an aircraft 250 days a year, so let’s get all of the eggs stocked and ready,’ and we have plenty of them just waiting.”
Only a few years later, the couple is finally fulfilling their goals by welcoming their son, Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum, into the world.
The 42-year-old Paris Hilton took to Instagram to share a number of new black-and-white photos with her son, which left social media users speechless. “My entire heart,” she titled the carousel.
That would be genuinely iconic.
The announcement comes just days after the 42-year-old confessed that she and her husband kept their son’s birth as private as possible.
“Until he was over a week old, not even my mum, sisters or best friend knew,” she revealed on an episode of her ‘This Is Paris’ podcast. “It was great to have that with Carter, to have our own journey together.” I just feel like my existence has always been so public, and I’ve never had anything truly mine.”
The Cooking With Paris star revealed that her life had always been subject to intense media scrutiny and that she had been “invaded” by the media on numerous occasions.
“I really felt like I wanted this journey to be just for us,” Paris Hilton continued. “We were so excited and wanted to tell our families, but we were just nervous because if you tell one person, they tell another, and then it’s all over TMZ or Page Six, and I’ve had enough of my life like that.”
“So Carter and I literally made a pact together not to tell anyone, and no one knew until just recently,” she explained.
