HBO Max has ordered Peacemaker season 2, with John Cena playing the title. James Gunn also returned to the helm of the project.
Peacemaker season 2 will be released but can we expect it in 2023?
Peacemaker is a spin-off of the movie The Suicide Squad. The first production season won viewers’ and critics’ recognition, so the project was extended to the next installment. As with the first season, James Gunn will be responsible for the continuation. The creator was asked on Twitter whether the photos for the 2nd series will start in 2022. Gunn stated that they would not start work on the set until 2023.

In addition, on Instagram, the director was asked what he is currently working on and what he thinks about Lady Gaga’s casting as Harley Quinn in the movie Joker: Folie a deux. To the first question, he replied that apart from the 2nd season of Peacemaker. However, whether he is referring to the announced series with Amanda Waller or some other product is unknown. In the case of Lady Gaga, however, he stated that he is curious about what he will do with the role of Harley Quinn and strongly supports her.
Is Peacemaker good enough to release the second season?
