Pink’s 11-year-old daughter is not allowed to have her own phone until she can prove that social media is beneficial.
Pink, born Alecia Beth Moore Hart, is a well-known American singer and songwriter best known for her songs Just Give Me a Reason, Lady Marmalade, Try, So What, What About Us, and TRUSTFALL.
During a recent interview with KTU 103.5 FM’s Carolina With Greg T In The Morning Show, Pink revealed that her 11-year-old daughter Willow does not have her own cell phone and is the only child in her class who does not.
My kids don’t have a phone. My daughter is the only 11-year-old in her class that doesn’t have one. It’s hard. A lot of my friends have their kids on TikTok, and I don’t,
she said.
I told [Willow], point blank, “If you can produce literature from a reputable source that tells me that social media is good for you, then you can be on it. Otherwise, good luck.’
The Just Give Me a Reason singer and her husband, Carey Hart, also have a six-year-old son, Jameson.
Despite having over 9 million Instagram followers, Pink believes her daughter is not ready to be exposed to social media, especially in this age of trolls and bullies.
She has a lot of eyes on her,
Pink explained that her celebrity status is the reason she does not want her daughter to be on social media because her daughter’s mental health is more important than anything else.
Willow, according to Pink, is so good at communication that she always comes up with solid arguments.
She could be a lawyer. She could literally pass the bar. She’s always right… She might actually find that literature, but good luck.
Willow, she claimed, tried to persuade her by pointing out that all of her friends have their own phones and TikTok accounts.
She told her,
That doesn’t move my needle, they’re not my kids, you’re my kid.
