Google’s gen-next Pixel smartphones, the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, are all set to launch later this year. While they are still at least one-and-a-half quarters away – the markets are abuzz with speculations about these phones.
Let us take a closer look at all that we expect from the upcoming Pixel 4 smartphones. We take a look at the expected specifications, changes to the design, how the OS would be and more details about the launch. Google is also expected to launch more devices alongside the Pixel smartphones, we shall also take a look at them.
Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL: Expected Specifications
At this point in time, no official detail about Google’s gen-next Pixel smartphones is available. However, let us take a look at some of the most-demanded features (a few of which are likely to be a part of the Pixel 4 smartphones).
dual-sim support
A feature which is highly rumoured to be a part of the upcoming Google Pixel smartphones, dual-SIM support has been long demanded by the users. Google’s attempts at providing eSIM have provided a solution, but it is not what the users really want. With Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, users might finally be able to insert two physical SIM cards in the device.
more than one camera
Another feature that users have demanded from Google is that of multiple cameras. While these have become a trend in most modern-day flagships, Google is yet to introduce them. While the pictures clicked by Pixel smartphones are the best in the markets -there’s still scope for improvement. Additional cameras can provide a wider field of vision as well as a better depth perception!
android q os
Now this is a certainty with the upcoming Pixel smartphones. These devices will be running the Android 10 OS (Android Q). As of now, we know nothing about the OS. However, by the time Pixel 4 smartphones release, the Android Q OS will get a name! The upcoming Android OS is heavily speculated to feature a system-wide dark mode. Facial recognition features are also expected to get better on Android Q.
Google Pixel 4 Release Date
Google Pixel 4 does not have a release date yet. The phone is yet to be announced or confirmed by Google. However, given that this is their flagship device – it is almost guaranteed to come out later this year. While we do not have the release date – going by the past trend, the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL smartphones are likely to come out in October 2019.
Google Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 XL Lite
Apart from the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL smartphones, Google is also expected to launch more hardware devices. The Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 XL Lite are two of the most popular names that have since surfaced. These will be Google’s low-cost Pixel smartphones which were rumoured for quite some time.
We also expect to see a new Pixel Chromebook and a gen-next Pixel C tablet at the event later this year. Google might also introduce a new variant of Google Home as well. Stay tuned, we will update you as the year progresses!
