Imagine that you are sitting in a cafe that is filled with the strong aroma of freshly baked bread, oregano, mozzarella, and tomato sauce. You have just ordered a fresh pan cheese burst pizza and now you are waiting for it. While you are sitting there, all you can think of is the smooth and warm cheese melting in your mouth while you are taking the first bite of pizza. In a nutshell, you are dreaming of heaven.
But don’t you think that there is something missing. Don’t get confused, we are not talking about your pizza. It’s perfect. We are talking about pizza boxes. Yep, we know the pizza boxes have always been the same. But a pizzeria in the state of New York has given a twist to it.
The restaurant that we are talking about is Just Pizza. It has a tie-up with an animal rescue organization i.e. Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) to help shelter animals. This restaurant has started featuring a shelter pet on each of the pizza cardboard. The basic idea behind forming an alliance is to encourage the act of adopting pets so that these cute angels can get a loving home to live in.
If you would like to rescue a cute dog with your pizza, scroll down.
Just as you can see in the above picture, the pizza boxes have a picture of a cute dog on it. Not just a picture but also the name, other information, and number for adoption.
Each person who visits Just Pizza gets freshly baked cheese pizza in a box with a flyer on it featuring a dog for adoption. The best thing is that if a customer decides to adopt the dog, he also gets a $50 coupon. How cool is that?
We know this idea is super amazing and it has been originated by Mary Alloy, a pizza franchise owner. She thought about this excellent twist while she was volunteering at the SPAC with her kids.
When Alloy was working at SPAC with Kimberly LaRussa, she started finding out different ways that can help shelter animals get a loving home. It was then Kimberly proposed this idea. Alloy says that “Kimberly texted me one night and said, ‘Hey, how would you like to put pictures of dogs on pizza boxes”. She liked this idea so much and luckily, she got permission from the franchise. Then she immediately started working on it.
Alloy says that people are simply loving this amazing idea and it is working.
She told about one of the incidents where she has put a picture of a 6-month-old puppy named Larry and the pup was adopted after one day. Also, the pizzeria has seen a sudden increase in its sale after the tie-up.
If you liked this creative and interesting idea, don’t forget to share it with your loved ones.
