The original series focused on teenagers granted extraordinary powers to defend the Earth from evil forces. The franchise continued similarly, but with new actors taking on the roles of the colorful heroes over 21 different themed series. “Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: Once & Always” features a pair of original Rangers who team up with some of their successors.
According to the official plot synopsis, “Thirty years after the wise and powerful Zordon formed the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the team faces a familiar threat from the past. Amid a global crisis, they are called on once again to be the heroes the world needs. This 30th Anniversary Special is inspired by the legendary mantra from the franchise, “Once a Ranger, Always a Ranger,” meaning once you become part of the Ranger family, you are always welcome back.”
The “familiar threat” in question is the evil sorceress Rita Repulsa, who intends to travel back in time to erase the Power Rangers from existence. Will the team thwart her diabolical plan? We imagine so, but as the trailer shows, there will be at least one casualty among the heroes.
“Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: Once & Always” will hit our screens on April 19th, 2023. The special is expected to be available on Netflix at 8 am (GMT) in the UK and 12 am (PT) and 3 am (ET) in the US.
