The Powerball Jackpot began in December last year and has risen to nearly three-quarter of a billion dollars in just a few months.
Powerball Jackpot and the 25th draw
The lottery fever seems to have the entire country in its grip after the 25th draw in a row resulted in no jackpot winner. The draw was conducted on Saturday night, and the numbers drawn were 66, 52, 60, 24, 25, with a Powerball of 5.
There were ten winners who scored $1 million, although nobody won the jackpot. Eight of the winners matched all of the balls except the Powerball, and two winners used Power Play as an option.
The numbers for the jackpot hit $750 million this month. This is the 4th largest Powerball and 7th largest lottery prize in US history.
Last time somebody won the Powerball was in December. A New Yorker won nearly $300 million.
Powerball Jackpot: How it works
To win the jackpot prize at Powerball, all five white balls and the Powerball must be matched. The white balls are numbered from 1 to 69, and the Powerball is numbered 1 to 26.
There are more ways to win though. If you match just four white balls or a combination of three white balls and Powerball – you can win a hundred dollars. Additionally, anybody who matches four white balls plus the Powerball wins $50,000.
Although ticket costs only $2, the statistics for winning don’t look good. There is only one in 292.2 million chance of winning the jackpot.
