Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’s season finale answered all the questions that the fans have been waiting for a while. Whom did Rebecca choose among her exes for a happily ever after? You will get to know all about it here!
In the penultimate season, Rebecca goes on dates with her exes to make her final decision. So whom does she end up with? Is it her summer-camp love Josh (Vincent Rodriguez III) who left Rebecca at the altar? Or is it the rich lawyer Nathaniel (Scott Michael Foster) who kept on changing his manipulative ways? It could be the restaurant owner Greg as well who was always the most compatible one among all.
Whom does Rebecca finally choose?
Well, Rebecca decides to take the fourth option. She ends up choosing no man. The critically-acclaimed ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’ which spent all these years discussing serious issues of mental health, focusing on the significance of female friendship, parodying rom-coms wasn’t supposed to end this way. Co-creator Aline Brosh McKenna said,
The idea that there’s a destiny, that there’s a happy ending and there’s a kiss and then you’re all set, is not a good message, actually, for women or men.
Rebecca took a wiser decision. She decides to spend an entire year alone to focus on herself and find who she is. She will pursue songwriting for now.
What led Rebecca to this decision?
‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’ Rebecca imagines her future with each of the guys. Even though the future looks bright, she ends up with a sullen, blank expression in each case.
Her dream therapist Dr. Akopian suggests that Rebecca is not aware of who she is and what she wants. So no matter whom she chooses, she won’t be happy. Clearly, that’s what led Rebecca to make her final decision to end up alone.
