She is the elder sister of the now-deceased writer Ben Wattenberg and the aunt of journalist Daniel Wattenberg. She was wed to Gene Schull from 1951 until his death in 2008, and together they had three children.
Her three children live a happy and successful life. Her son, Jonathan Schull is a teacher at Haverford College. Her daughter, Deborah is a law student. She became a grandmother in 1996 with the birth of her grandson, Henry to her second daughter, Elinor Schull.

In 1977, Schull starred as “Fefu” in the debut of Fefu and Her Friends off-Broadway. She also had a part as a nursemaid in Herzl, which was presented on Broadway in 1976.
She has also been featured in movies and TV programs such as Roseanne, Law & Order, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, United 93, Frasier, My Life, Analyze This, Analyze That, Flannel Pajamas, and Little Children.
In 1998, she was given the role of Wanda in the buddy comedy movie The Odd Couple II, which was a follow-up to the 1968 film The Odd Couple. Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau, Christine Baranski, Barnard Hughes, Jonathan Silverman, and Jean Smart were all cast in the movie.
