Who is Rebel Wilson?
Rebel Wilson is an Australian actress, comedian, writer, and producer. She is best known for her roles in comedies such as Bridesmaids, Pitch Perfect, and Isn’t It Romantic. She has won several awards for her work in film and television, including the MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Performance and the Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Actress.
The Pitch Perfect star has managed to keep her private life out of the limelight for the most part. The 43-year-old recently opened up about her sexuality when she posted a picture with her current girlfriend, Ramona Agruma. However, she has previously dated a few other men from the industry. Let’s take a look at her past relationships.
Rebel Wilson’s Ex-Boyfriends
Mickey Gooch Jr
Rebel Wilson was romantically linked to actor-producer Mickey Gooch Jr. back in 2015, and the two even worked together on the 2016 film How To Be Single. While it’s not clear where they first met, the couple had a few dates that they openly posted about on their Instagram handles before calling it quits in September.
According to a close source who spoke with Entertainment Tonight, they both realized that the attraction between them just wasn’t there anymore, and they decided to remain friends instead. Rebel Wilson was honest with him and conveyed that she did not see the relationship moving forward, and Mickey agreed. They were able to end things on good terms and continue to remain friends.
Aden Stay
Rebel Wilson, star of Isn’t It Romantic, briefly dated stuntman Aden Stay in 2017. The two were spotted together in March, sparking dating rumours. They were seen enjoying a romantic dinner at the popular Los Angeles hotspot, Craig’s, located in West Hollywood. After a few months, Rebel Wilson made their relationship official by taking Stay as her date to the 2017 MTV Movie Awards. During the event, Wilson shared a picture of themselves on Instagram, captioned, “Thanks to my sexy date tonight.”
Stay and Wilson also starred together in Pitch Perfect 3. However, the reason for their split remains a mystery. In his Instagram bio, Stay describes himself as a “public figure, SAG-AFTRA stuntman actor, proud single dad of two amazing little girls, [and an] animal lover.” He has played the role of a stuntman in several movies such as Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Den of Thieves, and a short film titled The Boundaries.
Jacob Busch
Until 2019, Wilson had not been involved in any high-profile relationships. In early 2019, she was linked to Jacob Busch, an heir to Anheuser-Busch. The duo was first spotted together when they went to see the movie Cats at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood in March 2019.
According to an insider who spoke with Radar Online at the time,
“It was not their first date. They met through mutual friends at a Hollywood bungalow about a month ago, and their first date was at Catch restaurant in Santa Monica. She makes him laugh, and he cannot get enough of her!”
The rumours about their relationship were never confirmed. However, after Wilson was briefly linked with another businessman, she and Jacob officially got “back together” in September 2020. The couple made their relationship public by posting pictures with each other on their social media handles. In February 2021, Wilson and Busch called it quits. According to US Weekly, Wilson was the one who called off their relationship via a text message.
‘They went to Aspen right before the holidays and had a blast. Then, he left for Florida to be with his family, and he invited her because he wanted her to meet [them] but she never committed to doing that. They talked throughout the holidays and had excellent communication, but then, all of a sudden, she got really quiet and broke up with him via text message about two or three weeks ago.”
Jeff Beacher
Rebel Wilson was rumoured to be in a relationship with Jeff Beacher, the founder of Beacher Media Group, around the same time as her fling with an L.A. nightclub entrepreneur. The duo made their relationship public on Instagram in May 2019, while Wilson’s fling with the nightclub entrepreneur occurred in February of the same year.
There were no official reports about their split, however, in September 2020, Rebel Wilson officially reunited with her ex-boyfriend Jacob Busch.
