Rebel Wilson said that her first child was born.
The Pitch Perfect star posted a picture of her new daughter, Royce Lillian, who was born through a surrogate, on Instagram on Monday, November 7.
Wilson wrote the following to her 11.2 million fans: “Beyond proud to announce the birth of my first child, Royce Lillian, born this past week via surrogate.”
The 42-year-old star continued: “I can’t even describe the love I have for her, she’s a beautiful miracle! I am forever grateful to everyone who has been involved, (you know who you are), this has been years in the making… but particularly wanted to thank my gorgeous surrogate who carried her and birthed her with such grace and care.
“Thank you for helping me start my own family, it’s an amazing gift. The BEST gift!!”
“I am ready to give little Roycie all the love imaginable,” Wilson added. “I am learning quickly…much respect to all the Mums out there! Proud to be in your club.”
Wilson also said five months ago that she was LGBTQ+ and in a relationship with Ramona Agruma, who started the Los Angeles-based sustainable clothing company Lemon Ve Limon.
In a letter to her fans in June, the star of Bridesmaids said: “I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince… but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess.”
Sadly, it turned out that Wilson broke the news after Sydney Morning Herald columnist Andrew Hornery said that the paper gave the star two days to comment on her new relationship before putting out an article that outed her.
Hornery wrote the following in a later piece: “In a perfect world, ‘outing’ same-sex celebrity relationships should be a redundant concept in 2022. Love is love, right? As Rebel Wilson knows, we do not live in a perfect world.”
As expected, the columnist got a lot of criticism on social media.
Over the weekend, Wilson also had to clear up rumors that she and Agruma were engaged.
After a “source” spread the rumor, the actress shared a picture of the two of them having fun at Disneyland on her Instagram Stories, according to PEOPLE.
She wrote next to the picture: “Thanks for the well-wishes, but we are NOT engaged.”
Heartiest congratulations to Rebel!
