Houston Astros, the defending World Series champion was steam rolled by the Boston Red Sox in the Thursday night Game 5. They booked their spot to World Series after a 4-1 win in the American League Championship Series.
In six shutout innings David Price struck 9, which earned him his career first post season win. Astros champion Justin Verlander was hit for home run off by Rafael Devers and J.D. Martinez which helped to reduce the offensive pressure and resulted in an AL title under the belt for the Red Sox.
Before giving a single to Jose Altuve Houston’s first 2 batters in the opening frame were sat down by Price. But a leadoff single to Yuli Gurriel in the second was given by the left hander.
After the 1-0 lead in the top third, the Red Sox never looked back and dashed their way to the victory.
