Jay Gruden has been in news this entire season because of his uncertainty in selecting players. And he did it once again this time with Colin Kaepernick.
In a radio interview, the Redskins coach admitted that his staff did consider Kaepernick for a tryout but rejected the idea later. He revealed on 106.7 The Fan that he and his staffs were giving a lot of thoughts on getting in the quarterback. However, they decided to go in some other direction this time.

The Washington Redskins did try other players including Josh Johnson, T.J. Yates, Mark Sanchez but it was no for the 49ers Quarterback.
Mark Sanchez was the ultimate selection for their empty slot. This came because of the right leg fracture of Colt McCoy who will watch the entire season from the dugout now.
Colin Kaepernick is a free agent since 2016. He claims that this is because of his protest of standing up during the national anthem.
