The United Airlines became infamous after the tragic incident were a bloody faced passenger was dragged down an aisle, however it was not the only incident that lowered their name.
It was not very long ago the Airlines had come up with a bonus scheme that proposed that most of the employees should relinquish their bonuses in the sole hope of winning 100,000 dollars or an expensive Mercedes car in a lot lottery that enveloped only a few prizes.
Employees revolted against the scheme and the management was forced to withdraw the idea as well as to admit the fact it had not actually informed the employees in advance about the scheme and now again when the season of Christmas is in full bloom United presents another new idea which enjoys its very own entertaining aspects.
The airline seems to have retrieved back its original scheme with a small but significant twist.
It offers its employees a bonus as well as a hope for many of them to get an extra $1200 a year. The criteria of success though have been changed.
So as to receive 75 dollars a month the condition that, the Airline’s customer satisfaction scores should go up a point every single year should be meet and if the employees failed to bring about this change they will not receive their bonuses.
However this is not the only condition that has to be taken care of, there exists a slightly more metric one.
In order to receive an additional $50 ever month, United Airline’s must beat America, Delta and Southwest in on-time departure every single month.
The company however failed to take into account the innumerable factors which affect this phenomenon. The role of management is much more in the on-time departure in an indirect way than of the employees.
