Rick and Morty is arguably one of the most popular shows on television. The iconic duo have given the viewers many laughs over the years. However, the one thing that absolutely frustrates the viewers is the time that it takes to produce the show. The show started in 2013 and there are only three seasons so far! However, Rick and Morty Season 4 is likely to change things.
Going by the fan outrage, as well as the fact that Adult Swim has signed a 70-episode deal, this may no longer be the case. The gap between Rick and Morty Season 4 and Rick and Morty Season 5 is expected to be much smaller!
Rick and Morty Season 4: Everything That We Know So Far
The fourth season of Rick and Morty is all set to air in 2019. As of now, we know that the show is still under production. Moreover, we also know that there will be an episode featuring the interdimensional cable. We also expect ‘Pickle Rick’ to die out as the writer has left the show.
Nevertheless, Rick and Morty Season 4 is an exciting prospect, as the duo return to our screen after two years! Even without a proper release date or plot details – this is an exciting thought.
Rick and Morty Season 5 Confirmed
Rick and Morty Season 4 will come out later this year – and we expect Rick and Morty Season 5 to come out in 2020. This is a much quicker pace of production than before. We suspect that the pace will pick up because Adult Swim has ordered 70 more episodes of the show (taking the count over 100).
Creator Justin Roiland commented on this, saying:
“For the first time ever, we’re locked in, we know what the future is, we have job security,”
Considering that the network has appreciated the show – it is likely that this financial security will motivate the creators to double up their efforts and come out with more seasons of Rick and Morty.
Before Rick and Morty Season 4 airs, we also suspect that the fourth season may have more than the usual 10 episodes. Going forward this might be a trend we see in Rick and Morty Season 5 and the seasons to follow. The creators of the show had expressed their interest in coming out with longer seasons! Hopefully, they’ll all be worth the wait.
