Rick and Morty Season 4 was expected to come out in 2019. However, it appears that the release of the show has been delayed yet again! The last time we saw a new episode of Rick and Morty was back in October 2017. Even after a two-year break, it looks like production is still underway!
The show was an instant success when it first debuted on Adult Swim in December 2013. The show was also picked by Netflix and has since become a hot favourite. Let us take a closer look at Rick and Morty Season 4 – and why it would be delayed.
Rick and Morty Season 4 Release Date Delayed
The time to produce and release Rick and Morty Season 3 took close to 18 months. By that count, it was initially expected that the fourth season of Rick and Morty would be out by April. However, given that no announcement has been made even as we hit late February, it is unlikely that the show will release at that time.
Signs for it were dropped at the end of Rick and Morty Season 3. When Mr. Poopybutthole appeared in the post-credit scenes, he simply said that Season 4 will be out in “a really long time.” In Season 2, he had said “a year and a half, or longer.” Given that he has no time-frame specified, the creators were probably aware that the wait was bound to be longer.
Earlier, we expected Rick and Morty Season 4 to come out by Q3 2019. However, we expect that it will now be out by Q4 2019. However, we expect that this season will feature more episodes as well as better animation. Another reason being associated with the delay is because the production quality is likely to improve this season.
