Rick and Morty seasons
The show is an American science fiction animated TV series for adults. It is created by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland and is aired on Cartoon Network’s nighttime programming block Adult Swim. The story is about a mad scientist and alcoholic grandfather named Rick Sanchez and his grandson Morty Smith. Morty unlike his grandfather, is kind-hearted but is also fretful. Their life revolves around their domestic household and interdimensional adventures. The duo travels through different dimensions and planets through portals and a flying saucer owned by Rick. The show has had about 6 seasons so far with a seventh season due to release this year.
Season 7 Release Date
The show’s first season premiered on December 2, 2013, and ran till April 14, 2014. It was renewed for a new season because of its popularity. For now, the release date for Rick and Morty season 7 has not yet been announced. However, there are speculations that the release might be sometime in the middle of this year (2023). Fans are eager as this season has taken a much longer hiatus than the other seasons.
The season was delayed due to the domestic violence allegations of the co-creator Justin Roiland. As a result of the allegations, Roiland will not be returning to the show. On January 25th, 2023, the Adult Swim network announced that it had severed all ties with Roiland. The official Twitter post of Rick and Morty read as follows:

Predictions for the upcoming season and cast
At the end of season 6, Rick teased the viewers about what is to come in the next season. There is a possibility that Rick’s alternate Evil Rick might serve as the main Villain for Season 7. The co-creator of the show, Dan Harmon stated to The Wrap that there will be at least one season each year and appreciated the effort of everyone in the crew, including showrunner Scott Marder.
Meanwhile, fans are still impatient for the release of the next season.

Cast
The cast will remain the same as in the previous seasons. Justin Roiland will not be returning as the voice of Rick and Morty.
Chris Parnell will voice Jerry Smith, Morty’s father and Rick’s son-in-law. Spencer Graham voices Summer Smith, Morty’s sister and Rick’s granddaughter. Sarah Chalke voices Beth Smith (nee Sanchez), Morty’s mother and Rick’s daughter.

There is no confirmation on who will voice Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith after Roilands departure. Speculations among fans run from actors Danny DeVito, Charlie Day, Maya Rudolph, Jeff Ross, etc… The show is yet to announce the actor or actors officially.
