Rob Dyrdek’s Career
Having fallen in love with sports at an early age, Rob started skateboarding when he was eleven years old. Professional skateboarder Neil Blender gave him his first skateboard. Neil inspired him to improve his athletic performance. Rob said that in his early years of the sport, he was so driven to succeed as a skater that he would always find ways to skip class so he could practise.
Under the auspices of his first sponsor, he carried on skateboarding and began participating in competitions. Following a year of competition in several events, Dyrdek persuaded his mentor Blender to leave the sponsorship team and launch their own skateboarding firm, Alien Workshop. This was his first attempt at becoming a successful business owner. He went on to become the owner of Alien Workshop, one of the leading sponsors of skateboard decks.
Rob Dyrdek gained recognition from leading sports brands shortly after relocating to California and entering the professional skateboarding scene. Rob was quickly extended an offer of sponsorship by Droors Clothing, which has since rebranded as DC Shoes and is still in operation. Rob personally selected the line of custom shoes that the firm produces. He seems to have the touch of the golden Midas when it comes to business, having tried his luck in a number of endeavours.
Together with DC Shoes, he has introduced the toy skating squad Wild Grinders and the TAG Body Spray smell “Make Moves,” which is his signature aroma. In order to provide unparalleled interfaces and one-of-a-kind experiences, he has collaborated with multiple brands.
