Robin Windsor, the Strictly Come Dancing star, dies at 44, as reported by his own dance company, Burn The Floor. Windsor rose to fame after entering the BBC competition in 2010 and was featured in four consecutive series before departing the show. His dancing partners included celebrities Patsy Kensit, Anita Dobson, and Lisa Riley, along with Dragon’s Den entrepreneur Deborah Meaden.

Cisco Entertainment, the production company responsible for representing Robin “Bobby” Windsor in various areas of theatre and corporate entertainment, confirmed the news of his death.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the tragic passing of our beloved friend, Robin Windsor.”
Although the reason for his death remains unidentified, Robin Windsor frequently referred to his “trauma” in social media posts before the terrible news of his death became public. His co-stars and agents also revealed that he was struggling with depression while he was on the show. Susanna Reid, the Good Morning Britain anchor, held back tears as she announced Robin Windsor’s death on Tuesday.
“He was just an extraordinary person and as I say, he would have had so many people gripped watching either Strictly Come Dancing or Burn The Floor or other tours and dance productions he was in involved in.”

His last Instagram post, with a follower of 46,000, was about his selfie in a dark ambiance, captioned “Hiding in the shadows.” His struggles with mental health started with losing his job at Strictly Come Dancing and separation from his fiance, the events that occurred all at the same time. He admitted that it was so bad that getting out of bed was a challenge for him.
The dancer spent his final days performing on a Fred Olsen Cruise, and he continued sharing cheerful pictures, hinting at the trauma he was going through, and thanked his friends and family for their support in several of his postings. Wishes and prayers poured in as soon as Robin’s death was announced.
“He was one of the kindest, gentle, honest, funny and caring people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working with. He will be forever missed. My heart goes out to all his family & friends.”

At age three, Robin Windsor started his dance career, receiving training in ballroom and Latin dance styles, which helped him win many World Championships. After joining Burn The Floor in 2001, Robin Windsor spent ten years traveling the world with nine months running on Broadway.
He made his Strictly Come Dancing debut in 2010, but regrettably, he was forced to leave the show in 2014 due to a slipped disc that left him paralyzed for four days. Together with Patsy Kensit and Anita Dobson, he placed seventh in the show. Additionally, he participated in So You Think You Can Dance Netherlands and Dancing With The Stars Australia. He also helped with choreography for So You Think You Can Dance Australia.
