Sir Rod Stewart is one of the wealthiest musicians. He has been making music for 60 years. Estimates say that the person from Britain is worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
Stewart was born Roderick David Stuart in London in 1945. He was the fifth and last child in a family of five. As a child, he liked to play soccer and build trains.
He didn’t become interested in music until the 1960s, when he taught himself how to play the harmonica and then, later, the piano. At age 15, he decided to stop going to school so that he could play soccer in a professional league.
But when that chance didn’t come up, Stewart decided to try to make a living by making music. In October 1963, he joined The Dimensions, a London-based R&B group. This was Stewart’s first time playing music in a public place. He was in the band, and in addition to playing the harmonica, he also sang.
In the years that followed, the rocker joined several bands and started to make a name for himself. Because of his punk-rock style and taste in music, people started calling him “Rod The Mod.”
After that, he tried to start a solo career, and eventually, Mercury Records gave him a contract. Every Picture Tells a Story, an album by Rod Stewart that came out in 1971 and had some of his best-known songs on it, like “Maggie May” and “Reason to Believe,” put Stewart at the top of the music business. After he finally made it big in 1975, he moved to the Los Angeles area.
Stewart has had 11 number-one singles and 12 number-one albums in the US and UK over the course of his long and successful career.
He was on the Sunday Times Rich List more than once, and Q magazine put him at number 33 on its list of the Top 100 Singers of All Time. Recent reports say that Stewart has a net worth of about $263.97 million.

Even though Stewart is famous all over the world, he still puts spending time with his big family first. In November 2021, he posted a video of himself and the people he cares about having a great time in the kitchen while they were cleaning up.
People saw the Stewart family cleaning the kitchen while dancing to music that was playing in the background. The head of the family put up a message on Instagram that said,
Sundays are for family!
He is heard saying in the video,
We’ve had a lovely Sunday dinner tonight. This is my daughter. She’s clearing up. Here are my two sons. They’re all clearing up. We’re a family. And my lovely wife cooked the dinner. And if you want the secret to dinner? Have we had a drink or two? Yes, we have.
Stewart is in charge of making sure everyone cleans up the house, which shouldn’t come as a surprise since he has said in the past that he can’t stand being in a messy place:
I’m pretty good around the house. I like a tidy house. Penny is really untidy. I do wash dishes, and I go, ‘I bet Elton or Bruce Springsteen don’t do this.’ We have got staff but I do like to go and do it.
Stewart also helps with the chore of cooking meals for the family. In November 2019, he posted a video of himself peeling potatoes in the dining room and said that everyone in the house was expected to help in some way with the preparations for the holiday meal. He wished everyone a “Merry Christmas!” in the caption of his post.
Stewart wants to help the community where he grew up, even though he has bad eyesight. In March of 2022, he helped fill potholes outside of his estate in Essex and posted a video of himself shoveling mud on the road.
Stewart takes care of his home so well that he cleans his garage every week. In March 2020, he posted pictures of himself holding a paint can on his house and wrote:
Taking this time at home to have a clear out of the garage.
Even though he was going to get his hands dirty spring cleaning, the “Ooh La La” singer wore an all-white outfit, including a tank top and white-washed denim pants.
Stewart always stays true to himself, no matter what, and his fans love that about him. They replied to his post by telling him how much they liked how he cleaned.
The dad of eight children
There were five different women who gave birth to Stewart’s eight children. He has two daughters: Sara Streeter, whom he had with his ex-girlfriend Susannah Boffey, and Ruby, whom he had with his ex-girlfriend, model Kelly Emberg. The former couple did give up their child for adoption, and Evelyn and Gerald Thubron raised her as their own.
The Grammy winner had a daughter named Kimberly and a son named Sean with his first wife, actress Alana Stewart. They were married from 1979 to 1984.
Stewart and his second wife, model Rachel Hunter, had two more children, Renee and Liam. From 1990 to 2006, they were married. Aiden and Alastair, his two little boys, were born to him and his third wife, Lancaster. He has been married to Lancaster since 2007.
Stewart became a grandfather in 2011 when his daughter Kimberly and actor Benicio del Toro had their first child, Delilah del Toro. In January 2023, he told everyone with joy that he would be a grandfather again.
The Hall of Famer said that Ruby and her boyfriend, Jack Kalick, are expecting their first child in April 2023. The happy mom-to-be shared the good news on her Instagram page by posting a video of an ultrasound.
