Angelina Jolie’s very close friendship with Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler, who is suspected of plotting with the actress against her ex-husband Brad Pitt, has been exposed in the email in which he extended an invitation to the actress to stay the night at his Scottish castle. Recent reports have revealed that Hollywood megastar Brad Pitt is suing his ex-wife Angelina Jolie for selling her portion of the French mansion they jointly purchased.
Angelina Jolie’s Deal With Russian Billionaire Yuri Shefler
According to reports, the Oscar-winning actress sold the Stoli Group, a spirits company with headquarters in Luxembourg that is controlled by Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler, her stake in Chateau Miraval and its renowned vineyard. Music lovers were taken aback by this announcement because Pitt had intended to revive the chateau’s equally storied recording studio later this year. The buyer, Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler, is a mystery to many people. He is a major participant in the alcohol market and has a net worth of US$2.4 billion, according to Forbes.
Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie’s Legal Battle
Former lovers Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s court battle appears to be getting uglier by the day. According to the most recent update, the wealthy Russian Yuri Shefler has been ordered by the Hollywood mogul to present correspondence he wrote to Angelina Jolie during the $164 million purchase of Chateau Miraval, a French winery, as proof in court. Pitt seems to be doing everything in his power to ensure that the court rules in his favour.
After Angelina Jolie sold her share of the French winery to Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler’s company SPI Group, Brad Pitt filed a lawsuit against both of them. Half of the shares were owned by the two actors, but Jolie supposedly sent Pitt a letter in 2021 stating that she wanted to get out of the booze business. Later, Jolie sued Pitt for a whopping $250 million due to the legal battle they are currently engaged in.
Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler has previously requested that the court prevent Brad Pitt from requesting additional records from him. Pitt, however, insisted on receiving a few particular jurisdiction-related documents. Subsequently, the Russian millionaire disclosed that he had a brief conversation with Angelina Jolie and that he had texted her five times.
Three SMS were sent after the agreement was concluded, and two of them discussed the deal. Shefler also disclosed that he never texted Jolie directly, instead corresponding with her through intermediaries. In his most recent response, Brad Pitt has accused Shefler and his group of hiding important information.
According to Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Yuri Shefler’s business chose not to tell him the specifics of the winery sale.
“But documents produced by others reveal Shefler’s fingerprints all over the transaction and indicate that he was a critical participant in its negotiation both directly and from behind the scenes,”
the Oscar-winning actor continued, adding that Shefler has tried to avoid questions by downplaying his role in the deal and “attempting to hide behind his agents.”
Brad Pitt has also submitted an email which the Russian billionaire sent to Angelina Jolie via a third party dated March 25, 2022. It reads,
“Dear Angelina, With this letter I would like to thank you for the deal we have done. I am happy with the deal despite the current disagreements with Mr. Pitt in regards to his attempts to sabotage and avoid signing shareholders’ agreements. I am, however, hopeful that we will eventually become trustworthy partners and will be enjoying mutual business.”
He added,
“Should you at any point of time require any assistance from me, please do reach out at the redacted phone number.”
Now that Brad Pitt has asserted that the email shows the Russian billionaire was heavily involved in the deal, the actor has asked the court to get involved and request additional proof.
