A truly special moment was captured between a local veteran and St. Nick.
Gina Wilbur spotted Santa walking by when she was at the Concord Mall. She wanted to take a picture with him, but Santa stopped before he passed her. Instead, he stopped, got down on a knee and started talking to another man who was sitting in front of Gina.
The man was a veteran, Bob Smiley. Santa wanted to thank him for his service and he got down on his knee to do so. Gina captured the heart-warming moment and shared it on the social media. Smiley’s family was truly moved when they spotted the image on Facebook.
Smiley and Santa reunited on the Good Day Philadelphia and had a discussion about the encounter. Santa explained that such people deserve all our respect and love and we owe a debt of gratitude to them. These men have made life-changing decision and gave up themselves to lay down their life for others.
