MTV’s Scream started off in June 2015 and was an instant hit! The show, based on the movie series of the same name, also got a second season in 2016. Scream Season 3 was confirmed the same year – but it is yet to come out! Let us take a closer look at the release date of the show, along with the plot details and the cast.
Scream Season 3 Release Date
The third season of Scream is expected to come out either in late-2019 or in mid-2020. MTV had also confirmed that Michael Gans and Richard Register, who created the first two seasons – will not be coming back for a third one.
For Scream Season 3, Brett Matthews will be the showrunner while Queen Latifah would be the executive producer. However, no concrete release date has been announced and no promo has been shared either. Interestingly, filming for the show wrapped up on the 11th of November, 2017! Over a year later – there’s still no update about when we will get to see Scream Season 3.
Scream Season 3 Episode Details and Cast
Scream Season 3 will also be the shortest season of the show. The first season saw 10 episodes while Scream Season 2 had 12 (and an additional two-part Halloween special). However, the third season is only going to get six episodes!
Moreover, Scream Season 3 is going to give the show a reboot. It is not going to carry forward the story of the first two seasons. RJ Cyler, Jessica Sula, Keke Palmer, Giorgia Whigham, and Tyger are going to be the lead characters in the show.
