Here is the first Jeffrey Dahmer trailer starring Evan Peters, and it quickly becomes unsettling.
The first trailer for “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” by Emmy winner Ryan Murphy, with whom Peters collaborated on “American Horror Story,” was released by Netflix on Friday.
The nearly three-minute clip opens with the 35-year-old actor bringing a young Black man into his apartment while sporting the serial killer’s distinctive aviator glasses and shaggy haircut.
“Home sweet home,” Peters mutters as he unlocks the door.
Before Peters eerily locks him in the apartment permanently, the man enters and uses his hat to fan away the unpleasant smell.
Following this, a montage of Peters torturing and devouring additional uninvited guests is shown. Niecy Nash plays Glenda Cleveland, his neighbor of Dahmer in real life who attempted to stop him from killing. “What do you do in there? The smells, power tools going all hours of the night.”
“I hear screaming coming from your apartment,” she adds.
In lieu of responding, Peters offers her a sandwich made with mystery meat.
“Eat it,” he insists towards the end of the clip.
“Y’all came too late,” a hysterical Cleveland says to a police officer. “I called you for months, and it’s too late!”
In Milwaukee, Wisconsin, between 1978 and 1991, the real Dahmer raped, killed, and dismembered at least 17 men and boys. At the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin, he was imprisoned in February 1992 after being taken into custody in July 1991.
Richard Jenkins (Lionel Dahmer), Penelope Ann Miller (Joyce Dahmer), Molly Ringwald (Shari Dahmer), Michael Learned (Catherine Dahmer), Shaun J. Brown (Tracy Edwards), and Colin Ford round out the main cast of the movie addition to Peters and Nash (Chazz).
On Netflix, “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” debuts on September 21.
