World’s first underwater villa named Muraka which is based in the Maldives will be opening shortly, this November. Located in the middle of the Indian Ocean at more than 16 feet under below the sea level, is all set to offer the first of its kind experience of underwater villa with The Muraka build with glass and is an aquarium of two levels.
The hotel is a part of the chain of Hilton’s Conrad Hotels and Resorts with its suite structured into two parts with half inside the Indian Ocean and half above it. In local Dhivedi language, Muraka means Corals.
According to Bloomberg, the cost of construction of the hotel accounted for $15 million, but the Hotel Muraka is offering a night’s stay at $50,000, which is exclusive of taxes.
The Architectural Digest reported that the lower part of the unique hotel was built in Singapore and was later transported to Malvides through specialized ship. It was then submerged without any damage near a reef.
Muraka is located a bit far away from the main offering serious privacy and one can approach the resort via private jet or speedboat.
The villa is built using steel, concrete and acrylic, has glass walls with a gym and a separate area allotted for private security detailing. It sleeps nine guests.
The upper level has two bedrooms, one bathroom along with a tub which faces the ocean. The inclusive indulgences includes a butler and a chef for each suite separately along with two jet skis, spa treatments and even a fitness trainer which is available on call.
The upper level also holds a deck exclusively for watching the sunsets which comes with an infinity edge pool.
The lower level has a master bedroom offering a 180 degree view of the Indian Ocean where one can sleep with the fishes swimming nearby.
