Shazam vs Captain Marvel is going to be the hottest rivalry of the months to follow as DC and Marvel come out with their next big release. Captain Marvel is going to be the movie that leads the MCU towards Avengers: Endgame. Shazam, on the other hand – is going to be a refreshing change in tone from DC.
However, commenting on the Shazam vs Captain Marvel comparisons, Zachary Levi who plays Shazam in the movie, has said that these comparisons should stop! Let us take a closer look.
Zachary Levi Asks Fans to Stop Shazam vs Captain Marvel Comparisons
Shazam vs Captain Marvel comparisons, Levi says, is not good because these comparisons do not benefit anyone. This comes right after DC fans ganged up to give negative reviews to Captain Marvel on sites like Rotten Tomatoes.
Here’s @ZacharyLevi asking fans to stop piting #CaptainMarvel and #Shazam against each other, because IT ISN’T HELPING ANYONE. He’s also calling out the fake reviews and fabricated/defamatory posts about @brielarson. —It’s time for those people to really listen. pic.twitter.com/SzL0iowj5T

Hence, Levi asked the fans to cool it – and posted a video message on social media, urging these Shazam vs Captain Marvel comparisons to end. He said that apart from the fact that these movies are coming out at the same time frame, it does not mean they are competing with each other. He also addressed the fact that Shazam used to be called Captain Marvel ‘way back in the day’.
Shazam vs Captain Marvel: The Release Date
These comparisons won’t have been so rampant had they not been coming in such short succession. Captain Marvel comes out on the 8th of March (Women’s Day). Shazam, on the other hand, releases on the 5th of April, 2019.
