Sheila Carrasco is a native of Chicago’s South Side. She received her master’s degree in fine arts from Moscow Art Theatre and Harvard University, and she studied BFA set design and direction at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Sheila is American by birth and Chilean by descent. She has a brother and sister who are Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Air Force respectively. Sheila loves cats and once had a cat by the name of Geneva.
Sheila’s mother is American, while her father is from Curacautín, a small rural hamlet in southern Chile’s Araucanian area. Despite the language barrier, they were able to fall in love and get married in 1973 after meeting by coincidence in Temuco, Chile.
