Sherlock creators Steven Moffat and Mark Gattis are currently busy in other projects but they have assured about coming with new episodes in the detective series. Here are more details on Sherlock Season 5 release date updates from the cast and crew members.
Moffat and Gatiss on Sherlock Season 5 Renewal
Sherlock Season 5 creators have said that they are right now not working on any new episodes but it doesn’t mean that they have closed the door to the series. Both Moffat and Gatiss are busy in separate projects and don’t have time to sit down and plan things.
Also, BBC has not renewed Sherlock for Season 5 but that doesn’t mean that it won’t happen in the future. There are a lot of conflicting issues with the stars, as Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are very much busy in other projects. But at the same time, the showrunners have said they would love to make “Sherlock” Season 5 even though it takes a lot of time.
Sherlock Season 5 Release Date Predictions
Sherlock Season 5 would take at least 4 more years of planning and getting dates free as per Steven Moffat and Mark Gattis. The statement was made when Sherlock Season 4 finale aired and it means that 2021 will be the year when it happens.
Cumberbatch will get free from filming Doctor Strange 2 at the end of this year and hopefully, Freeman also gets some time. Hence, Sherlock Season 5 could release at the end of 2021 if they start filming in the start of the next year.
