The Lodi Parachute Center witnessed a tragic event on Sunday, a skydiver was killed as the result of her parachute failing to deploy during a jump.
The officials from Federal Aviation Administration said that the skydiver used her own equipment.
According to the Sheriff’s Department in San Joaquin County, Officials from the Coroner’s Office were en route to the scene Sunday afternoon.
On 14 October, Emily Maher narrated that she had discussed with an employee of Lodi Parachute Center who confirmed that a skydiving incident occurred but refused to share details. There was official confirmation that the San Joaquin Co Coroner’s office is on its way to location where the incident occurred.
The Federal Aviation Administration said it will investigate the incident.
So far, 15 people have lost their lives jumping from planes that took off from the center, from 1999 to 2017.
In September 2016, after an examination carried out by the United States Parachute Association, a number of hundred and twenty instructors were told they needed to undergo more training and twenty instructors were suspended from the center.
