Hollywood couple Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello’s divorce news has been received as a shock by many of their fans. Days after Modern Family star, Sofia Vergara celebrated her 51st birthday, the couple announced their divorce publicly demanding privacy from their fans and the media.

Joe and Sofia first met in 2014 at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner and were already engaged by December 2014. They tied the knot in November 2015 and announced their split in July 2023 after almost 8 years of marriage. The couple announced their divorce via a public statement they shared with Page Six.
“We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”
The couple were seen together last month in June when Sofia visited Joe on the sets of his latest project ‘Nonnas’. After the couple was spotted together last month, the news of their divorce was certainly hard to digest for the fans. However, the fans were already suspecting that something wasn’t right between the couple since Sofia had gone to Italy for her birthday without Joe.
Fans had also noticed that Sofia Vergara wasn’t wearing her wedding ring on her birthday vacation in Italy. Also, Joe’s birthday post for Sofia was a little suspicious when the 46-year-old captioned a blurry picture of the couple with, “¡¡¡Feliz Cumpleaños Sofía!!!” which translates to “Happy Birthday Sofia.” This was quite unusual as Joe would usually refer to Sofia as “love”, “mi amor”, etc.

Another user pointed out how Joe posted two stories of his dog on its birthday but a very formal birthday post for his wife.
“Something is off. Cold message for her and has two stories about his dog’s birthday. And sofia has not even said thank you.”
Sources Close To The Couple Reveal The Reason Behind Divorce
People reported that sources close to both Joe and Sofia have revealed how the couple were drifting apart for a while now. A source close to Sofia described their marriage as “a passionate, all-encompassing romance, which kept the flames hot for quite a while.” However, the flame seems to have died down over time.
“They have been growing apart for some time now and tried to resolve things, but they are focused on different areas of their lives.”
“They definitely love and respect each other but once that initial passion dies down and other areas get in the way, then little differences get bigger.”
Another source told People that both Joe and Sofia have been a very happy and down-to-earth couple but their “differences” caused “stress” in their relationship.
“I have never seen two people so in love, so passionate and so happy. They were always, laughing, lovey-dovey and really happy. There was a magical glow above their heads. They are both real people and down to earth.”

Sofia’s last Instagram post with Joe was in June 2023 where she posted a series of throwback photos of their vacation in Italy. Since then, Sofia has been posting pictures of herself from her birthday in Italy and with a few of her friends.
