Speculations are making a wake in the basketball world as an NBA Executive shared insights into the future of Luka Doncic with the Dallas Mavericks.
As the upcoming NBA Season unfolds, fans and analyst have all their eyes on the Dallas Mavericks and their star player’s next move.
Doncic’s Request for A Trade from the Mavs
According to the NBA executive, there is a high chance that Doncic may consider requesting a trade from his current team in the next NBA Summer season, especially if the team doesn’t perform well and make significant changes on the roster.
Here is what the executive said:
“There has been a lot of talk about Luka leaving Dallas.”
“I’m here to completely confirm that talk. If the Mavs don’t take a huge leap forward this season, I think he starts forcing his way out of town.”

Luka Doncic’s Career and Stats
Luka signed a contract extension with the Dallas Mavericks worth $215.2 million for 5 years in August 2021. He has also been named Rookie of the Year in the 2018-19 NBA Season.
Doncic has averaged 32.4 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 8 assists in the last NBA season. Moreover, he did 49.6% of the shooting from the field, 34.2% from beyond the arc, and 74.2% from the free-throw line.
Doncic’s team, Mavericks, could compete in the play-in tournament in the last NBA Season after the Western Conference Finals in 2022. After that, Doncic said, during the Season end press conference:
“Something’s got to change for sure”

The Mavericks had the worst winning percentage, around .313, which led to the Doncic’s disappointment.
In the last NBA Summer Season, the Dallas Mavericks made some significant changes, which included signing Curry, Excum, Jones Jr., re-signing Irving and Powell, and acquiring Zion Williams and Holmes from the Boston Celtics and Sacramento Kings, respectively.
The rumors about Luka Doncic leaving the Mavericks will further intensify if they don’t contend for the NBA championship in the upcoming season.
