Here’s why Stephen Curry will not be cast in Space Jam 2
Well, it may not be simply because he didn’t want it. The scheduling issues were one of the reasons why Curry couldn’t be a part of the movie. The NBA champion has an affinity for Ryan Coogler, who will produce the sequel of Space Jam. Curry said,
I know LeBron and Ryan Coogler are going to be doing amazing things. It’s going to be awesome. Part of it was in terms of things that I had going on. It was just the timing, to be honest.
It was really hard for Curry to put down the opportunity to work with LeBron and Coogler. Coogler is also a die-hard fan of Warriors. Sources reported that others including Kevin Durant and James Harden along with Curry couldn’t star in the movie due to sneaker contracts.
Under Armour sponsors Curry, but Nike has strong ties with the Space Jam franchise. Curry is currently busy with his own entertainment ventures. His reality show Holey Moley recently hit ABC. After a recent limited theatre release, Curry’s award-winning Emanuel documentary got rave reviews. His first feature film Breakthrough also surpassed the expectations of the box office earlier this spring.
Sadly, Curry is all caught with other things and won’t be able to join Space Jam. But we definitely will get to see LeBron and others in the movie soon.
