In the vast universe of iconic characters, Sabine Wren shines through as a vibrant and complex person. As presented in the animated show Star Wars Rebels, Sabine has an impressive fighting ability and is also a skilled artist, making her mark on the fight front and in artworks.
When Disney+ unveiled its cast and character list for the upcoming series Ahsoka, fans rejoiced at the prospect of seeing some of their beloved characters come to life on the small screen. Notable among them is Sabine Wren, who was last seen in Star Wars Rebels.
Sabine Wren In Star Wars Rebels
Before Natasha Liu Bordizzo took over the role of Sabrine Wren, Tiya Sircar voiced her in the Star Wars animated series Rebels. She is a member of the Clan Wren, which is a subgroup of House Vizsla.
When Sabine was a child, she enrolled in Mandalore’s Imperial Academy, feeling that the Empire was in the right. She eventually attained the rank of top cadet, but departed the Academy after they utilized her invention, the Arc Pulse Generator, to attack her own people- The Mandalorians.
This magnificent weapon had the capability to penetrate the Mandalorian beskar steel and was worn by its owner. She attempted to sabotage the weapon and ruin its blueprints, yet her efforts were fruitless. She abandoned the Empire later, but her family stayed with it.
Clan Wren remained loyal to the Empire, but this did not benefit them. The Empire held them accountable for Sabine’s wrongdoings and took her father as a hostage. Furthermore, Saxon forced her brother to become an Imperial Super Commando.
When Sabine fled her home, she had to take up a job as a bounty hunter as she had no family or anywhere to go. She later joined a Rebel cell known as the Spectres, led by Kanan Jarrus and captained by Hera Syndulla.
Ezra Bridger was also a part of the group. Her Mandalorian education, capacity for creating explosives, ability to be resourceful, keeping her composure in difficult situations, and expertise in making something out of nothing made her a greatly valued ally.
The iconic Rebel Alliance symbol was inspired by her, and even someone as impressive as Grand Admiral Thrawn held her in high regard. Much of Sabine’s character development can be traced back to the third and fourth seasons of the animated series.
How Did Sabine Wren Meet Ahsoka Tano?
At a later point in the show, Wren uses the dark saber to protect her family, but also realizes it was not meant for her; Bo-Katan Kryze deserved it. Although Clan Wren had accepted her return, Wren’s place was alongside the rebellion, fighting against the Empire with her comrades.
When the show ends, Sabine encounters Ahsoka Tano, a person everyone assumed had died. Earlier, Ezra Bridger had given himself to save his crew and the rebellion, shifting him to a different locale.
Although he was still alive, Sabine vowed to search for Ezra at all costs. Eventually, Ahsoka and Sabine departed in Ahsoka’s spacecraft. When the series Star Wars: Rebels concluded in 2018, the most mysterious character was Sabine Wren – leaving us to ponder her future.
Sabine Wren in the Ahsoka series, has a whole new look with trimmed hair and new armor, and is seen training with Ahsoka. She also appears to be more hard-hearted than she was in Rebels. Her connection with Ahsoka doesn’t appear to be amiable, and she also declines to participate in a festivity honoring Ezra.
Ahsoka is training with Sabine Wren in lightsaber combat using the saber Ezra gave her in the final episode of Rebels. While her Force abilities have not been impressive, it’s yet to be determined what the future holds for her.
