Months before tech companies cut their ties with Gab, an extremist friendly social media site, they have been warned about some incitement to violence on the social media site.
The man who allegedly killed 11 people at Pittsburg is found to be an active Gab user. He has posted various violent anti-Semitic posts and he has also announced his intentions of murdering 11 people to his Gab followers before the killing incident. This made Stipe and PayPal, the payment processors to stop working with the social media site from Saturday. But the payment processors were receiving warnings about this site’s role from summer.
In August, the twitter user @DeplatformHate has been continuously tweeting about Stripe’s ties with Gab. On August 24, the Deplatform hate user has sent a long email to Stripe’s CEO and general counsel documenting the entire issue.
