Jamie Lopez has died, we have learned. She was the founder of Babydoll Beauty Couture and the star of “Super Sized Salon.”
People who knew Jamie Lopez said that she was in the hospital in Las Vegas and died over the weekend because of heart problems. In a statement, a source’s representative said,
We regretfully announce, with great pain, the passing of The Founder & Owner of Babydoll Beauty Couture, The Legendary Jamie Lopez. We ask, on behalf of the Babydoll family, that you allow us time to process this tremendous loss.
Lopez designed her salon while she was stuck in bed because she was too heavy to get up and see the world. The show showed her progress, like when she lost 400 pounds and when she walked into the salon for the first time.
Babydoll Beauty Couture was started to help plus-size women, and the WE tv show “Super Sized Salon,” which debuted earlier this year, showed both the salon’s employees and customers. We heard that she was about to start filming for the second season.
Jamie was just 37. May her soul rest in peace.
