What is Swarm about?
Swarm is a psychological thriller series that follows the story of Dre, a young woman who fixates on a pop singer named Ni’Jah. As the story progresses, Dre’s obsession grows, and she goes on a murderous rampage across the country, dealing with the loss of Marissa and murdering critics of Ni’Jah.
The show, a Donald Glover production, explores social media’s impact on impressionable young audiences’ delusions.
Has Swarm been renewed for Season 2?
At the time of writing, Amazon Prime has yet to announce the renewal of Swarm for a second season. While the show has received positive responses from critics and audiences, the creator, Janine Nabers, has stated that the series was always intended to be a limited series with a clear beginning, middle, and end.
Despite this, the show remains the most popular on Amazon in the United States and the UK, and the entire contract signed by the Glovers with Amazon includes Swarm.
What we know about Season 2 so far
While not much is known about the potential second season, if it were to happen, it would likely focus on Dre dealing with the repercussions of her actions and being chased by Detective Loretta Greene, who has strong suspicions against her. The individual who bit Ni’Jah’s face may also be revealed.
