T-Series vs PewDiePie: Legal Action By T-Series
The popular Indian record label has indeed filed a petition in the Delhi High Court, which is listed in the court’s website as ‘pending’. Allegedly, the complaint filed by T-Series is against both the diss tracks ‘Bitch Lasagna’ and ‘Congratulations’.
If T-Series wins this case, it is likely that both these videos will be banned in India and YouTube will have to disable them for viewing by Indian viewers. Viewers from other countries will still be able to see them.
The Congratulations Song Controversy
A number of YouTube users from India have pointed out that PewDiePie’s diss track ‘Congratulations’ was rather racist. Moreover, it also took direct shots at CEO Bhushan Kumar, talking about his allegation of sexual assault and the company having ties with Indian mafia.
T-Series vs PewDiePie battle heats up following this court case. It will be interesting to see if PewDiePie responds to this with another video. Interestingly, this court case against him comes at a time when there’s a change.org petition claiming a ban on his channel stating that his content is racist and promotes white supremacy.
