Online porn to come to an end by blocking 827 websites. As per the orders of the government, the internet service providers are ordered to block the pornographic sites which are 827 in number, which is followed by the order of Uttarakhand High Court.
The ministry of electronics and IT found non-pornographic content in 30 portals from the 827 sites that have to be blocked. According to the sources, the Department of Telecom was ordered by MEITY to block 827 websites which are issued as part of the order and named in the list.
The order by the high court was issued on 27th September 2018 whereas MEITY received it on 8th October. MEITY had informed DoT that the order by Uttarakhand High court was received for blocking 857 websites which were contained in DoT’s old notice of 31st July 2015.
Whereas, DoT altered its order on 4th August 2015 to the internet service providers mentioning that they are not free to block any of the 857 web links that do not contain the pornographic material.
