John McEnroe warns Serena Williams on Twitter
Serena will be thirty-eight years old this September, and she has not won any event after the 2017 Australian Open. Last year, the American champion lost the US Open last year and Wimbledon. She even lost the third round at the French Open and is one victory away from Margaret Court’s major record.
McEnroe said Williams would be thirty-eight soon and she is also a mother. A woman’s body goes through a lot of changes after that, and you can’t be sure for how long you would be able to continue. McEnroe said,
As you get older, at least for me, I felt there was more pressure because you realized that your window is closing.
Well, we don’t know what Williams has in mind. But it is certain that she has only a year or two left for her career. Even though Williams lost the third round at the French Open, Chris Evert still makes her the favorite for Wimbledon. She played only five tournaments this year and won nine matches due to her injury and illness.
McEnroe believes that she is still holding the position of the best grass-court player. In the US Open, she wasn’t at her best and ended up losing the final. What do you feel about Williams’ performance? Share your views with us in the comments.
