In March 2016, the Model 3 was unveiled by Tesla. Almost three years after that, the company has finally kept its promise and offered the Model 3 base version for $35,000. Back then, CEO Elon Musk said that the customers won’t have a better option than this. Model 3 is one of the safest cars in the world at just $35,000.
Getting a better car for $35,000 is debatable, but according to NHTSA safety tests, the Model 3 is among the safest cars of the world. Model 3 did outstandingly well in the safety test.
The car will be offered for sale to an online-only sales model. The retail locations will be closed down by the company. All this has been done for bringing down the base price to $35,000 and realizing an average reduction in prices up to 6% across the entire lineup of the model.
The online sale has some disadvantage as well. The company will not be able to provide test driving opportunities to the customers. So in order to make up for it, the company will introduce a return policy for the buyers. This is applicable to all the customers who are not satisfied with the purchase. They can return the car within seven days of purchase or 1,000 miles and get a full refund.
