Tessa Blanchard was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on July 26, 1995. She comes from a family of wrestlers. Her grandfather is the renowned Joe Blanchard, while her father is Tully Blanchard and her stepfather is Magnum T. A.
Blanchard identifies as a passionate fan of musical theater. This is evident through her participation at the Children’s Theatre of Charlotte, involvement in Shakespeare recitation competitions, and participation in all of her high school’s non-professional productions. Additionally, she was a member of the track team.
After graduating high school, she moved out and spent a short time at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She supported herself by working at a nightclub and did not keep in touch with her immediate family for an extended period of time.
Career
In late 2012 and early 2013, Tessa Blanchard started learning how to wrestle under the guidance of George South. She officially debuted as a professional wrestler in June 2014 at Queens of Combat 2, where she interrupted Miss Rachel’s celebration of her win against Amanda Rodriguez.
In April 2016, Blanchard entered the WWE and made her first in-ring appearance for NXT. Her opponent, Alexa Bliss, emerged victorious. She then faced off against Nia Jax on May 4, suffering a defeat.
