“Baby Shark doo doo doo doo doo doo, Baby Shark doo doo doo doo doo.” Some people like the song “Baby Shark,” while others don’t. No matter how you feel about it, though, it’s likely that you know all of the lyrics and can’t help but sing along with it whenever it’s played.
One family has given this well-known song a whole new sound. They are actually using the song in the show they are putting on outside as part of their Christmas decorations.
People in the neighborhood know the Hinojosa family for the elaborate Christmas light show they put up every year. The whole town, including the towns around it, has been waiting for the family to do something for the past four years, and every year, it gets bigger and better than the year before.
Last year, we had 60,000 lights, this year it’s 100,000 [lights].
Beto Hinojosa, who owns the house at 140 Shadow Knolls in Boerne, Texas, said what he thought about the situation. This year’s event, which is called “Hinojosa Family Lights,” is just as big as last year’s, but it also has a few extra things. They took the idea and turned it into something completely new and different from anything anyone had ever seen before.
Since Beto is the principal of an elementary school, it’s likely that he’s heard the song “Baby Shark” at least a few times, if not a million. Actually, the parent of one of his students gave him the idea to make his display light up to the song that everyone loves to hate. He thought it was great, and to tell you the truth, we agree with him.

In addition to “Baby Shark,” the Hinjosa family is setting their Christmas lights to a number of other songs that are very popular with elementary school students. Songs from the Disney movie “Coco” and songs by Selena Quintanilla, who is known as the Queen of Tejano, are among these.
So, when you come to see the show, you will get to see the whole thing. Bring the whole family, grab a cup of eggnog, and enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of the holiday season.
The Hinojosa family is proud to show off their holiday lights from 5:30 to 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. But he stays open until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Except when it rains. When it rains, it’s quiet. After putting so much work into the lights, he can’t take the chance that bad weather will ruin them.
The family not only puts on a lively show every night for the people in their neighborhood, but they also know what’s important about this time of year. To help families who are having trouble financially getting donations, they put out a donation box and ask people to put their donations inside. The year before, they were able to raise money for a charity run by their next-door neighbor. The charity, called Warrior Chef, gave the money to military personnel and their families.
What is the secret to the Hinojosa’s always-perfect show of lights? The trick is nothing special; it’s just slow, careful work with their hands:
PVC pipe, rebar, Christmas lights and you can have a show,
Hinojosa said.
You don’t have to worry if you can’t make it to the Hinjosa’s show before Christmas Day. They’ve decided to keep it going until January 6, so you have plenty of time to get to Boerne.
And even if you can’t make it there at all, you’re still lucky. Watch the video below to see the whole thing in action.
