The Big Bang Theory is finally coming to an end after 12 long years and it is the end of an era. It gave a new spin to the nerdy, geeky characters out there. The show began in 2007 and its main characters were Sheldon Cooper, Leonard Hofstadter, Howard Wolowitz, Raj Koothrappali and their neighbour, Penny.
All the characters received immense love and support over the years. Especially, Sheldon’s character was loved by everybody because he was a genius physicist with slightly strange characteristics and an anti-social personality.
The Big Bang Theory has also got 52 Emmy nominations till now. It has won 10 of them too.
The show was really good at the beginning but, it lost its charm in the later seasons. A lot of fans believe that the show should have ended with Leonard and Penny’s wedding. So, let’s take a look at some reasons as to why The Big Bang Theory seems dragged.
Losing Interest in the Character
The show introduced us to new characters. But, their character development took away their novelty and hence the losing interest. Penny was one of the most interesting ones because she had to struggle as an actress, waitress and then getting into a full time job.
But, Sheldon has been the highlight of the show and his relationship with Amy was of much interest to the audience. But late on, it all just became a typical rom-com story.
The Jokes got unfunny with time
The show has been with us for a really long time and the people have also changed since 2007. The jokes that were funny then are no longer funny now. And they sometimes they even tend to get offensive. They tend to stick to their stereotypical humour. And this has resulted in them getting termed as ‘off-putting’.
The Big Bang Theory has been dragged
It seems that The Big Bang Theory is just out of plotlines and the same story gets repeated over and over again. The start of the show was quite unique with the nerdy guy as the lead.
But, now we all know what the plot is going to be. Sheldon most probably will get into a problem and Leonard and Penny will come up with a solution. Amy won’t be of much help and Raj, Howard and Bernadette will have something going on their own.
